Local dealer has a blued/parkerized? Colt Delta Elite series 80 BRAND NEW in box , never fired. He is asking $ 1000.00. Gun has a commander style hammer and the mil spec beavertail with fixed sights.

So... is this a good deal?

I don't think so. I've seen 98% DE's going for less than $600 in Shotgun News, Gun List, the auction sites, and Gunsamerica.com. There have been a few NIBs for less than $800.

Way too much, IMO! You can find them NIB for about $750, if you look around.

What is a "mil spec beavertail"? My Delta had a standard grip safety with a little bite taken out of the top as releif for the Commander hammer; is that what you're talking about?
There were some matte-finished M1991A1-style guns made, called "Delta Ten", I think, but there should be no premium paid for a gun with the lesser finish. A buddy of mine got an unfired blued/pre-enhanced DE for $700, a few months ago.

I just bought a 98% stainless model for $630 ($600 + shipping + transfer fee).

$370 for a box and papers seems a bit overpriced.

Total ripoff. A good price for that gun is about $650 or so. If it was a Delta Gold Cup it would be a good price.
