.356 Winchester options for caliber change

I own one of the perfectly fine winchester .356 big bore rifles, but ammo is very hard to find. Can this rifle be converted by a gunsmith to any other widely respected .35 caliber like the whelan or remington?

.35 Remington is smaller and would require a new barrel. Custom made, Winchester didn't make .35 Rem rifles (except for a very few early M70s, now scarce and valuable.)
.35 Whelen is on .30-06 caselength and is too long for the action.

With the real Winchester factory closed, you could probably make a good trade for something more common.

You need to take up reloading.
