Colt 38 Super

I came across a NIB Colt, 80 Series, Enhanced, 38 Super for $675. Is this a decent price?

That's about what I paid for mine. It's blued, has the flat rib on top of the slide, udercut trigger guard, dove tail sights front & rear.

Plastic trigger and mainspring housing, goofy Colt beavertail.

I haven't shot it a lot but it strikes me as nice piece. It will need a little work to make it a good IDPA ESP gun: beavertail, BoMar, safety.

My wife put the gun on hold and is planning to buy it for my birthday. Before anyone asks you can't have her and we won't adopt any of you

. It's a good deal but I'm considering buying a Caspian frame and slide and building a Super/9x23. Or am I just being a dumb a$$? BTW what's the status on getting a decent pull with all of the 80 series firing pin safety crap?

The 80 series parts will not prevent you from getting a good trigger pull. Brownells offers a slot filler if you want to remove them:
