That's the idea isnt' it? Making them work isn't the biggest issue. Glad you got a good one. I really like the NRM S80 guns.

Fit and Finish

Question about your new Colt. Is the frame to slide fit tight as with Kimber, S&W, and Springfield Armory? Or does it have the typical Colt "mil spec" tolerances? I am impressed with the accuracy of your pistol. A local shop has the same pistol for a very fair price and I have contemplated buying it. It does have the Colt rattle from the slide to frame tolerances. I have seen other 1991 NRM's that felt much tighter.

jakes10mm the slide does have a click click when it moves from side to side at the rear of the slide. However, the barrel, when in battery is very tight with absolutely no discernable movement when pressing down or side to side on the chamber. So if the barrel locks up tight then it doesn't matter if the slide has moved 1mm left or right between each shot as the sights should still be aligned with the barrel.

I had a local Gunsmith check the pistol when I had the grip screw bushings removed (I now have slim carry grips on it) he asked where I had the trigger done... I told him it is a stock Colt. "Wow" Then he checked the lock up the same way as I did (attempting to move the barrel while in battery) and said 'wow this gun is pretty nice, they are making good Colts these day''.

I took about 30 seconds between each shot of the group and was grinning the whole time!
I tried to duplicate it and managed this group after 6 or 7 attempts remembering too they are with Winchester White box from Walmart:

Regards,
Cameron
