The XSE will require cutting of the frame tangs to fit the Wilson grip safety.

This isn't quite as simple as many people think.

As for the extended slide stop. This is about the most troublesome, and useless accessory ever invented for the 1911.
They seldom operate properly, either failing to activate, or activating too soon and locking the slide back on a still loaded magazine.
They tend not to stay in place, and it's way too easy to accidentally activate it with you hands during recoil.

I strongly advise learning one of the techniques to operate the standard stop. They are far less prone to the problems the extended stops are.

There is a Wilson "drop-in" grip safety that does not require cutting the frame, although it takes fitting of the engagement arm. It is not as smooth a fit as a fitted beavertail but it looks a lot better than that thing Colt puts on some of their guns. I think the XSE has Commander tangs, but best you make sure before you buy, it matters.

Agree that the extended slide stop is more of a problem than a solution, I have taken them off of two guns.

extended slide release

i shot around 300 rds yesterday and had no problems with it. 1 FTF with win white box ammo. i just cupped my left thumb downward and was conscience of it for a while but got used to it. work around your gun a little. it won't work around you. adjust a little and like it or dont shoot it.
