NEW Colt Officer model

Saw a newlly manufactured Colt officer model in the shooting range yesterday for sale. Nice looking gun , but it was $850 in stainless. Colt is making them again. Anyone have experience with the NEW ones?

Re: NEW Colt Officer model

Went to the gun store today to buy it.
I looked at it for a while and decided not to get it. I was very dissappointed in it. It still had the old style plug recoil spring design. The only thing different was it was stainless and it had the new style beaver tail and hammer.
Compaired to the Defender, it does not come close to the feathures and quality of it.
For $850 I could get a lot more gun than the Colt Officer's model.

Re: NEW Colt Officer model

Colt's sometimes "finds" enough parts laying around in inventory to make up a short batch of one model of handgun or other from time to time. That's not just idle speculation, one of the big-time distributors who has been to the factory a few times related this to me. In fact, his company spurred* them to reintro the Detective Special for a while a few years ago, long after Colt's had stopped.

*With infusions of cash money, at times when Colt's was greatly in need of same. Nothing illegal going on, just good bizness.
