| revise a colt officer recoil plug
Is there any reason you cannot replace the Colt officer recoil plug system with the same idea and way as the government model? Just find a barrel bushing to fit and cut back a plug to fit right? Thanks for your help |

As I recall, the problem with that is the ultra-short, large diameter barrel bushing being deformed or broken under recoil. Clark sells, or used to sell a heavy duty, original type plug that required no slide mods. |

Having broken several of the factory plugs (the little bitty lug shears off), I just replace them with a reverse plug right from the git go. This requires modification to the slide, of course, so it may not be the solution you want. Hope this helps. |
