Did Colt make the Mark IV in stainless steel?

You bet they do..They did not make pre 80 series pistols in stainless, but lots of folks see the 70 series guns in the Colt Guard satin nickel finish and think they are stainless...not.....

The Mark IV Series 70 were available in nickel from the factory, not stainless. The Mark IV Series 80 were available in stainless.

Sorry I confused you..Castle Bravo is correct..80 series pistols only in stainless..

Paten, check your grammar: "They only made the 80 Series in stainless" - that's true. That doesn't mean there weren't blue ones, too!

The series 70 was in nickel, called ColtGuard IIRC (I had one). Had a kinda matte/brushed look and a yellow tint to it. The series 80 stainless model (had one of them too) was a smoother, polished (though there was a very highly polished "bright" stainless model to confuse things even more...) finish, no yellow tint to it. |
