| Anyone seen grips like this on an Off. Mod. Target .22?
I haven't, and wonder if they are aftermarket, or a Colt option.

| Hmmm...
Well, I can't post the image, so I'll ask it this way--were thumbrest style grips ever offered on an Officer's Model Target .22? All I've seen up until now are the standard (thin) service stocks like S&W's pre-magna's and the Python-style walnut target stocks. Can anyone help me?

In so far as I know, (note the qualifier) Colt never sold true target-type grips with thumb rests with their revolvers. The Post 1952-53 Colt revolvers had one of the 5 variations of Colt "target" grips. All of these were versions of the grips made famous by the Python. Before the 50's, all Colt's, including the Officer's Models had the same narrow grips as the old Official Police. It's POSSIBLE somebody had these factory fitted by the Custom Shop, but only a letter from Colt would tell for sure. In practice, it's very unlikely these are a factory item. |
