| Colt King Cobra background - looking up gun's history?
Hey, Always wanted a Colt King Cobra and finally got one about a month ago. Buying used of course with no box or papers, I was curious if someone knew an easy way to look up the history of the gun by its serial number, as I'm curious what year it was made. The number stamped on it forward of the cylinder reads KV5003. If anyone can help out, I'd really appreciate it - thanks! |

Unfortunately, the publicly published serial numbers on Colt's end with 1985 production, before the King Cobra's time. You can give Colt a call, often they'll give a production date over the phone. http://www.colt.com |

If you want the full-blown Historical Letter they charge around $100.00. Just for a production date they USUALLY give that over the phone. |
