Pointman won`t extract fired brass

I picked up my Pointman Minor today and went to try it out and it won`t extract fired brass.I can`t even cycle rounds through it.It will jam every time.I tried to field stip it but the bushing is on so tight I can`t budge it not even with the wrench that came with it.I called DW and left a message and also left them an email.Boy it sucks to buy a new gun and it doesn`t work.I just hope they will make good on it.I really like the looks of it and the price was great, only $499.

Don't get discouraged. I guarantee they will make it right for you. It sounds like for starters your extractor may need to be tightened. It is very simple to do. There is a written procedure Here. I really had to work the bushing to get it out when mine was new also. Maybe a little oil or breakfree would help. It gets better after a little use. They build them really tight so that it is more accurate. Post back if you need more help with that extractor. I suspect you will get a call back from Dan Wesson shortly though.

I`m not going to mess with the extracter.I will have DW do it.I didn`t buy a new gun to have it not work.I`m sure they will make it good if it is true what I have read about DW.By the way, thanks for the reply.

By the way there are a lot of Dan Wesson owners at the 1911forum, the President of Dan Wesson also frequents over there. This is a great forum here also but the Dan Wesson section is brand new and has not evolved yet.

Wow 7 days!!! Thats service. Heck, If it aint right you could send it back 10 more times and it would still be quicker than the 3 months it took Springfield to fix one of mine. I hope it works good for ya!
