What about a 7" long-slide? (a la iai Javalina)

What would everyone on this BB say to a stainless steel7" long-slide 10mm automatic, based on the Dan Wesson Razorback?

7" slide/barrel. (no FCS)

"Unramped" (read: extra case head support) match Barrel/bushing and link.

Adjustable sights

Adjustable match-type trigger.

20-lb variable Wolff recoil spring

25 lb hammer spring.

Titanium alloy firing pin

What I want is a 1911-type pistol that will handle extremely hot 180-220 grain hardcast and JHP bullets that have been tailor made for handgun hunting.

Yes or no?

I never personally cared for the look of the Javalina or any longslide, with one exception. I really like the looks of the DW PT-GS. I think the slabside and extended dust cover look really good on a long slide.

I also like the external ejector more than the internal. I just think a 7" barrel is too big. The 6" gets the job done plenty, and the 7" will only provide about a 50 fps increase.

I don't think a piggy will notice the difference when It gets hit at 15 yards.

Now if the point is to get a longslide to through on top of the RZ frame, I like that just for the novelty and Utility. You can play with the longslide and carry the standard. Heck, DW ought to offer a fitted set with interchangeable slides. One 5" one 6-7". That would make one hell of a combo and still run along the lines of their heritage of multi length barrels on their wheel guns.

I would say, "Oh, YEAH, BABY! GIMME SUMMA DAT!!!"

I really like my Javeline - the 7" barrel really changes the recoil dynamics.
