| Clear picture of DW .357 hand
I need a good photo to tell if the hand in this revolver is up to spec. I am helping a friend out who got a DW .357, fixed barrel 4". It is marked "Wesson Firearms Palmer, Mass. He got this gun as a "parts" gun but it looks like it is nearly fireable. Oddly after he cleaned it up from the exterior it looks pretty good. No pitting, just a bit of frame cutting above the forcing cone. The timing is slightly off and when I disassembled it using J.B. Wood's book all the parts were present except for an ejector rod bushing. How that came up missing I have no clue. It was extremely dirty inside but no corrosion. I ordered the ejector rod bushing from Numrich. Again, does anyone have a good picture of a "hand" for this gun. This one seems to be sort of rough, not worn, but sort of crude from the factory, nothing like the S&W hands I have dealt with. I cleaned it up just a bit to see if just needed squaring up a bit. I'll reassemble the gun once I get the bushing and see how it runs. I I don't really want to spend $37.00 on a new hand if this one is the way it is supposed to be. Thanks, Craig in Tennessee |
