first off id recommend against the desert eagle, unless you just have to have one, the are not the best made pistol in the world for over a grand( my buddy was a gunsmith at magnum for a couple of years up until recently and thats his opinion too). if you forgo my advice the brushed hardchrome doesnt look too bad. whatever you do i highly recommend against the gold titanium- it is gaudy looking- i own the one and only baby eagle ever done in the gold titanium and it is the ugliest thing i own. do a search for magnun researches website, i believe they've got pictures of most of the options. they do have a couple of colors in the titanium finish that are not cataloged or offered, but occasionaly get done as specials. if you want something different than the norm give MRI a call and see what they can come up with for you.

they have had some reliability issues. although in the last few years they've gotten better. the 50ae DE does have an impressive muzzle flash when fired indoors, its a pretty good noisemaker too.

Do a search over at www.gunbroker.com for "desert eagle". You'll find photos of them in just about every finish they come in. I always almost wanted one, but never could spend the money on such a thing. I usually ended up buying another AR-15 when I had that much cash lying around. |

they offer, Black oxide Cheapest, Brushed Chrome & nickel, Polished Nickel & chrome. The chrome is the best of all these. But they also offer Titanium Gold, and tiger stripe titanium gold. The most durable are the Titaniums the Gold Titanium & tiger stripe. 24 kart gold is also offered but it a light plated layer of gold wears very bad. If you get the titanium gold guns I would suggest getting the Tiger stripe it hide alot of the plating defects on the eagles.

I love the eagle very controllable and acurate. I have had over 5 of them. The only issues are the crappy magazines, But alot of companies have mag issues, Springfield , kimber ruger!

Dang, Micro! You got some thread reanimation goin' on tonight! I like the brush finish myself. Tiger stripe is hella ugly, IMO. Looks are very subjective of course..... I've not had an issue with SPringer mags(For 1911s or XDs) or Rugers. Which ones did you have trouble with? Kimbers are a whole 'nother story to alabaster though. I never had but 1 good experience with them. |
