| surface hardening of titanium............
Does anyone know any gunsmith who does nitriding of titanium. The soft, and brittle qualities of titanium results in poor durability when applied to high friction areas, such as trigger, and hammer, especially notch. I heard that applying nitride treatment of titanium results in wear hardness far greater than stainless steel. The reason for this post is, I want spurless titanium hammer and trigger, but pure titanium is too soft and brittle for the purpose. |
