Brushed-Polished Stainless

I have a Kimber Eclipse with a stainless steel slide which is brush-polished.
There was a scratch on the flat surface on the slide in the area between the muzzle and the front cocking serration. I used semichome polish to remove the scratch as well as the brushed finish. ops:
How can I re-apply the "Brush-Polish" finish to this small area and have it match the rest of the slide.

Thanks!

You can use Scotch Brite pads to re-brush your stainless slide. Maroon pads are the standard but you might want to try the light gray Scotch Brite pads. They are a bit finer. Cut some small pieces and just brush with firm pressure length wise with the slide to bring back the look you want. Be careful not to run over on the top blasted area. You will be mad.

Chris, Thankyou for the quick reply!
Regarding the "top blasted area", do you mean the top of the slide?
Should I tape this area off to protect it. Will masking tape hold up?

You can tape it off or just be real careful. You don't need A LOT of pressure to brush. You can wrap a 5" long piece of scotch brite, 3/4 of an inch wide, over the end of a flat stick of wood and push the scotch brite that way. Use it like you would use a putting knife to scrape paint. Index finger pressure down and rear of stick up in the back. Get it?
