Has anyone tried the drop in KKM barrels with or w/o the compensator?
I'm experimenting with the G-20 and figured that the extra case support couldn't hurt with some of the warmer loads.

I had a KKM barrel in a G21. I liked the extra case support since I was shooting reloads. I think it was more accurate than the factory barrel. When I get another G21, I'll be getting another.

I have a KKM barrel in my 17L. It did require a little fitting to be 100%. It did drop in, but there was a slight glitch upon lockup that I smoothed out. I polished the feed ramp more than it was.

The interior finish was fine compared to some pistol barrels I have looked in.

It is also just as accurate as any other custom barrel.

Kevin is a good guy and I highly recommend his and Bar-Sto barrels for Glocks.

This past year I purchased a 6" KKM barrel for my G17L as part of a test that I conducted.

I compared it to the stock Glock barrel and a fitted Bar-Sto barrel in the same gun. I did the fitting on the Bar-Sto and it was not a semi-drop in barrel.

The Bar-Sto is by far, the most accurate.
The stock Glock and the KKM were nearly the same with the KKM having a very, very slight edge. Not $150.00 better than the Glock barrel.

All three barrels were tested using my match reloads assembled with the R-P 147gr. FMJ match grade bullet. I obtained similar results using another match grade reload assembled with the Sierra 125gr. FMJ Tournament Master bullet.

After having the KKM barrel sit around not being used, I sent it back to KKM and had it cut down to use in my standard G17.

Again, it is no more accurate than the stock Glock barrel.

From my findings, I would say that the KKM is a good barrel, nicely finished but not $150.00 better than a stock Glock barrel.

The only advantage is that a shooter can safely shoot lead bullets thru their Glock pistol if he/she wishes.

Who says Glocks are not accurate? With the factory barrel mine is minute of bowling pin at 75yds, plenty goof IMO.

Anyhoo, I got the KKM barrel-comp set up from Kevin at KKM. It dropped in and functioned 100% with various loads I needed to clock. The barrel length is only 4 3/4, not the six inch mentioned by some over at GT so the loads all clocked just a little slower than my Para conversion with a Nowlin barrel (5in. 10mm), it was still fun blasting Nosler 135s at almost 1800fps from the KKM G-20. The comp is very efficient, I got zero muzzle rise with all the 800X hot loads, the KKM seems to like the Sierra 165s and the 200gn XTPs best, both went under an inch at 25yds.

How hot? The 200gn XTPs were running 1250fps, the 155s and 165s clocked at 1600fps!

Drop in barrels, regardless of the manufacturer, will help a little with accuracy but the key to increased performance is to have the barrel fitted by an extremely competent gun-smith. I would recommend sending them to the factory of the barrel maker and having their people do the fitting. Examples include Irv Stone at Bar-Sto and Claudio Salassa at Briley.

I dropped a KKM barrel in my G35 and have bee very happy with it, it is very accurate and was a drop in fit. It is now 357 Sig instead of 40.
