Hi all..
I just got a used Glock 23.. Since it's used, I wanted to clean the pistol and thought of cleaning the magazines also.. But the thing is that I am having trouble removing the magazine floorplate.. It's post-ban 10 rounders.. Even if I depress the plate plunger, the plate isn't moving at all..
Are the Glock mags designed in a way so the mag plate won't be removed, or am I doing anythong wrong??
Any help will be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks, guys!!!!
Just take a 3/32" pin punch (Glock armorer's tool) and stick it in the hole at the bottom of the magazine base plate. Let the tip of the punch take a path toward the front of the magazine body as you insert it. Then use the handle of the punch as a lever to pry the baseplate forward (in the direction the cartridges point)off the magazine body.
Audix....If you look at your Glock mags from the side, looking down towards the basepad, you will see that there is a notch on each side that the basepad is slipping over and locking in with. As the other guys said, put a took in the hole and move towards the front. I noticed that if you push the tool in and keep it square with the basepad and the pull the whole thing towards the front keeping it square that it will come off easier.
It worked!!!!
It was not as easy as it was to remove the plate from other magazines, like Taurus.. But I finally did it!!
Thank you so much, guys!!!
