Now, Swamp...I can't see your post because I've enacted the IGNORE feature...but I'm sure it was classic. Your comments are always filled with such wisdom and logical rhetoric, I hate that I've missed it.

Before I stop responding to you altogether, I want to say one thing in the faint hope that you'll come to realize that there are people here who are willing to help you in your quest to understand firearms in general and the 1911 pistol in particular. You blew the opportunity here to tap into real knowledge. Bill and I have a collective experience of about 80 years with the gun. Bill is a renowned knife maker who doesn't advertise the fact much because he couldn't get anything else done if he did...and he's ready to go into semi-retirement so he can devote more time to his love of competition.

I'm retired, and don't do much work these days, other than pro-bono for a few friends and forumites who are able to favorably impress me as to their honesty and integrity.
I do the work for free, and only accept donations in my name to a couple of rescue organizations as my way of supporting their efforts. Of course, it also follows that they have to actually bring the guns to me because I'm not a current FFL holder...so it's pretty limited to local guys and parcel delivery that doesn't include serialized components...frames.

Finally...I understand. At one time I was a young smartass who had all the answers. I was fortunate enough to be born with wise men in my life to guide and direct me. Not only my father, grandfather, and uncle...but several of their friends who took enough of an interest in a cocky young whelp to try to straighten him out before it was too late. I barely made it...but I did learn from them and managed to make it to where I am now.

Unfortunately for you and people like you...I'm a little less patient than those great men, and I don't suffer fools for very long once I've seen that they can't be reached without a lot of time and effort involved. My years are growing short, and I simply don't have the time to waste on it. If you were my grandson,it might be a different matter...but you're not, so I leave you to your folly in hopes that you have the intelligence to eventually develop the ability to recognize a potential mentor when you see one.

Good luck, Swamp. I've got a feeling that you'll need it. Be well. We won't be speaking further.

Johnny

Well Johnny it would appear you're admitting defeat and have had a growing up experience overnight. It's a shame you project the immaturity you and Bill both possess on me when all I did was stand my ground against a couple of a$$holes who think they know it all and did a whole lot of showboating making absolute fools of themselves Hopefully this experience and the embarrassment it brought both of you will live on with you both and you'll think twice before waging such a destructive and immature war against someone who didn't even for a second do anything to deserve it.

I'm glad to see you may have finally grown up here and it was nice to, for a change, take a couple of arrogant know-it-alls to their knees without being thrown off a forum. I feel like I benefited all who come here for being able to do so.

As far as anybody's alleged notoriety; the behavior of both of you was so disgustingly immature and unprofessional and full of crap I'm sorry but I will continue to have trouble thinking you dont pee your pants because you dont know to pull your zipper down. You guys both acted THAT BAD.

I'm sure, evidenced by your selective reasoning and reading that you wont believe this but I dont have any need at all to be taught by your guys; both fore the reason I already gave plus you only need to think I know nothing which is quite false but then I dont care what you or Bill think because I know what I know, have the resources I do and your opinions dont make a tinkers damn to me.

Two replies from the silent one for one post! Wow is me. Too lazy to use the search function, but ready to type up a mini novel when somebody doesn't jump to respond to his queries.

Interesting.

I bet you talk to yourself just to hear the sound of your own voice.

Swamp, are you the same guy that demanded that I explain the terms MIM and IL in another thread just a while ago ? ? I deemed it an honest question that deserved a straightfoward answer. You sure have gained a great deal of knowledge since then..........
