red dot optics

I am thinking about installing a red-dot scope on my deer riffle. figuring max range to be around 125 yards. anyone have any advise?? how to cope with hunting using a battery??

I don't think you could go wrong with an Aimpoint M2. Great battery life. Durable.

I'd still have irons on the rifle, and use a mount that lets you remove the optic with a minimum of fuss, in case it goes belly up in the field.

Another vote for the Aimpoint Comp M2. Special Operations Command has been using these (and their predecessors) on their CAR-15's and M4's for over a decade. That's good enough for me!

Trijicon has some non-electronic illuminated sights that have received good reviews, as far as I know. They might be worth looking at as well. I believe that some of their products are also used by various military units, though I don't know which sights nor which units. The lack of batteries is appealing to me.

Aim point comp M2 unless you dont care if its rugged and want magnifacation then Aim point has a rifle scope with magnifacation that is real slick for hunting up to 150-200 yards.
