Best night sights for HK USP

I've got an HK USP .45 coming this week and want to put night sites on it. I've been a little bit out of the loop for pistols. What are the best night sights for the HK? And where is the best place to get them?

Mine is the standard HK. Do I need to have someone install them for me or can I do it myself?

Thanks.

Congrats on your HK USP. It is definitely one of the best pistol you can buy. Sights can be ordered at www.uws.com. Trijicons are very popular but you can also try HK USA because they also have HK branded night sights.

You will need a sight ppusher to change the sights since they are just dovetailed. Best bet is to let your gunsmith do the intallation. It will be cheaper in the long run.

I have the 24/7 big dot tritiums on one usp and a set of novak tritiums on the other...close up the big dots are nice but as range increases accuracy fades some...I really like the novaks...you can get just a tritium front if you prefer or you can go tritium all the way around.I will be replacing the big dots with another set of the novaks soon.If you have put other dovetail sights on you should have no problem with the novaks...I have done it with a brass punch but recommend the sight pusher, the front sight is usually the hardest since it small and can bend or snap off if pushed to hard.If you are at all uncomfortable with installing the sights then I would have a local smith do it.

Heinie straight 8's all the way. I've got them on my new USP 45f. I would post a picture if I could figure out how to do it on this forum...

How far out would you say the big dots start to lose their accuracy?

The sights that I have on my personal USP 45 are these
TRUGLO : T.F.O. Brite-Site fits H&K USP Green/Green (902-000-114) - World's Largest Supplier of Firearm Accessories, Gun Parts and Gunsmithing Tools
They are very bright in low light as the tritum inserts seem to light up the fiber optic and really makes them glow. Plus during the day light the fiber optic sights are easy to see.
