Will get to shoot my H&K tomorrow for the first time. With out any rounds shot, the factory single action measured 5 1/2 lbs.
Factory spring is 14 lbs.

Installed a 12lb spring (Wolff) and measured a single action of 5lbs.

Installed the 10lb spring and measured 4 1/2 lbs.

RMark,

Which spring did you change, the one in the grip? I would like to lighten my SA weight also, but have never taken the H&K beyond normal maintenance tear down, I do not know how to get to the spring.

I changed the spring in the grip. This is the hammer spring. Push the Lanyard Loop Insert and the Lanyard Loop Insert Pin should fall out.

I installed the 12lb spring.

How is DA effected by the spring change?

The DA is a lighter pull. My trigger pull scale only goes to 8lbs, and the DA is more than that, but less than the factory DA pull

No problems with the 12lb spring after shooting 300 rounds (winchester primers).
I'm switching to the 10lb spring and will give it another test tomorrow.

With the Wolff 10lb spring I went 130 rounds before I had a failure to ignite. The round had a small indentation on the primer but didn't go off. To make sure it wasn't a bad primer, I loaded the round again and it fired. I then switched back to the 12lb hammer spring w/o any additional problems.

Detail breakdown here http://www.streetpro.com/usp/detail/index.html for the USP.

Be mindful that you will void the warranty. Personally, I'm not that concerned as HK has been pretty good about getting parts out to me that are worn, broken, etc...

Just out of interest, why the wolf springs? Are you just looking for lighter trigger pulls in SA and DA or are you handloading or what?
