One Way Snaps

First let me say hello to everyone - I am a hobbyist and have been lurking here for a while and have enjoyed all the advice.

I am looking for one way / pull the dot snaps that attach with screw posts. I have used line 24 brass snaps in holsters but would prefer the piece of mind of more secure snaps.

I just ordered some from http://www.dotfastenersdirect.com/catalog.html I think the screw parts are available from the hardware store.

Do you use these snaps for thumb breaks?

I have use regular snaps for thumbbreaks because there is pretty much only one direction you can release the snap - there would be no advantage to using a one way snap.

Thanks for the replies everyone.

Then are these used for the belt loops?

Thanks,

I've only seen them used for belt loops. If you pull the holster up, like say when drawing, the top of the snaps won't be forced apart by the bottom of the belt if the holster tries to come with the gun. They should help the holster stay attached to your belt until you decide to release it.

One way snaps are for belt loops.

I have had regular snaps pop off (on cell phone and flashlight carriers) if I sit down the wrong way in a bucket seat or bump into something hard enough. Thankfully it never happened with more serious hardware.
