Just got home from the range. I skipped doing homework because the wait was killing me. I fired about 250 rounds through it. 100 wolf 230 ball, 100 WWB 230 ball and 50 Remington green box 230 ball. I had no fte's and 4 ftf's. All 4 Ftf's were while using the Remington ammo(which is why I only shot 50 rounds). The round would make it to the chamber and bind up. The rem was the hottest ammo(perceived recoil) so I am figuring since its a used gun it might not have a good recoil spring. I ordered a couple 22 lb per Kimber recommendation and that should clear that up. I had the same symptoms with a stock(supposed 16lb) Springfield spring once and a heavier spring(18.5) cured it. It shoots as well as anything could in my hands. I found the best accuracy from the WWB. I keep keep all shots in the black on my pistol targets and hit my 4 inch spinners 23 of 25 times at 15 yards. This being said its about the same as my 220 but probably a little more accurate. Off hand at 25 my 5 shot groups were a bit over 3 inch with the limitation being my need for practice. I am confident that with the right ammo and some practice I could get that down to 2.5 inches or so. For a 4 inch gun that fine by me. I liked the site picture better than the novak extreme adjustables I had on the last 1911 I had. This gun shoots a tad high at 15 and 25 yards but its less than an inch so I am happy with that also. Over all I was extremely pleased and impressed. If the recoil spring replacement fixes the ftf's like I think it should this gun may become my favorite. It might even knock my black hawk off my nightstand. :rock:

I bought 1 new last year.I have only put about 500 rounds through it,but no failures at all.I hope the new spring helped..I know I love mine.
