Kimber Ultra Carry II - Compare?

Looking for some feedback from anyone who has bought this pistol or has used one. Am considering purchasing and don't want any surprises for this price point.
Gun feels great in my hand and I will be using it for concealed carry.
Also looking at the Springfield EMP and the Colt Defender. Comments on any of these are welcome.
Thanks for the help.

Kimber UC II

I have a Kimber UC II .45acp and if you use a Wilson Combat 7rd Mag. and round nosed ball or JHP Ammo. After breaking in and keeping the slide well oiled you will really trust this fine handgun. Also you can rely on Kimbers Custom Shop to help when and if it's needed.

My primary carry is an Ultra Carry CDP. It's a great little gun that is very accurate, soft-shooting, and has been 100% reliable since day one.

Break in

Just clean and oil it good and shoot some quality 230gr FMJ Ammo. give it 300 to 400 rounds before worring about FTF or FTE problems. Just read the manual about recoil spring replacment.

Re: Kimber Ultra Carry II - Compare?

Thousands of rounds through mine and never a problem. Never liked the Springfield you mention. Colt is okay. If you plan on shooting it a lot, keep track of how many rounds you put through it and replace the recoil spring according to Kimber recomendations.

Kimber Stainless Ultra Raptor II here. Have put 300 flawless rounds so far through it and using the original mag. Field Strip,Clean and oil per Kimber before first use and after every 100-150 shots Make sure you use good 230 FMJ ammo for the break-in period. This is what the tech at Kimber told me. My gun below. It is just a customized version of the Ultra Carry

I use mine in 50' competitive shooting; it's an accurate gun and about as natural a feel in your hand as any I've handled.

I just figured out being notified about replies isn't the default and need to post something in all the threads I posted in. Dang.
