Pro Carry series 1
I have a series 1 Pro Carry that is supposed to be 1 of 5 steel frame prototypes. It is steel and not an alloy. All Kimber can tell me about it is the serial number is from 1996, the year they started the Pro Carry series. They did not keep good records at that time. I guess the owner might know if it is truly a special issue, but I dont know how to reach out to him. On the case someone wrote 3 of 5 steel frame. I put a magnet to it and it is steel.
Has anyone ever heard of 5 prototype guns being made before actual production which were aluminum alloy? Or, does anyone know who I might contact to get more info. Thanks,

My senior management friend at Kimber informs me that indeed all they have from that era are the original S/N records as provided for by regulation. He doesn't recall the project, one way or another, alas.
