A replacement front should be no big deal... Contact Dane Burns or Ted Yost and they can help. As far as a replacement rear adjustable? Bo-Mar makes a much nicer rear adjustable sight that fits the Kimber cut. HOWEVER, tritium inserts are not available. You CAN have them installed by IWI. It's about $80. An alternative would be a fixed sight or skipping the tritium inserts at the rear and going with only a lit front.
Meprolight makes a set for the adjustable Kimber sights, part # 387-000-009 at brownells.com. I'm not certain but I think the Kimber adjustable rear sight is an LPA style sight. This is similar but not identical to a standard Bomar but it won't fit. As Mark stated, Bomar does make a model that fits an LPA cut, BMCS-LP, Brownells part #135-102-200.
I've seen Bomar-type sights with tritium inserts but I don't know if they were custom made or not.
I e-mailed Kimber and the response was that I had 2 choices: 1) send the slide to Kimber and have them install one of theirs at considerable expense, or 2) buy the MMCs from Brownell's.
I bought the MMCs and they are at the Smith's right now being installed. They look really cool and I think I will by very happy with them.
BTW: I didn't see Meprolights for Kimber in the catelogue
you might woant to check out the Express Sights by Ashley Outdoors. I have a set on both my Pro Carry and Ultra Carry compact. They can be found at http://www.ashleyoutdoors.com/handgun_sights.html I hae been very happy with these sights and would recommend them to anyone.
Can't send it back to Kimber because the are out of stock and have been for a while. I might have to look into the MMC ones. Thanks for that tip.
DVNovum,
I like the idea of the 24/7 sights, but they are not due out into next year.
