| Personal protection knife recommendations?
I usually carry a crkt M1612z with my glock 23.It feels good, decent edge, features but I want something for suited for defensive purposes.I was thinking of a spyderco or darkops, any recommendations?I have about $80 to spend.I want something easy opening, durable, preferably tanto blade,no more than 5 inches, and with a clip.If you think a fixed blade would be better, give me some recommendations.thanks and stay safe! |

Spyderco Delica or Salt. The delica is the old standby. Holds a great edge, light, not too tactical looking and if you drop one in a lake, get it confiscated at a checkpoint, etc just grab another one out of the drawer. They only run about $35 so it isn't as upsetting as if you had lost a higher end model. VG-10 steel The SALT is a little newer. Bigger thumbhole and a little straighter blade. I like the feel of it and it runs about the same price. Both have low tech Zytel plastic handles which makes them pretty light. Both are tip up carry which I prefer. I carry two pretty much at all times. One in each front pocket. Chris |
