I dunno, man. $800 for a pre-owned(I think?) pistol is a chunk of change to me! Not saying it's not worth it, just saying 8 hundo isn't just laying around ALabaster's house.

Are they largely interchangeable with the 1911? I'm sure the slide parts are, but what about the frame and internals?

@ Alabaster

I never said it was cheap .. I just say it's a fine / rare gun.

Yes STI 1911 parts interchange with it.

Top end is all 1911
Bottom end minor parts are 1911 except:-
Trigger - a modified Para one will fit
Grip safety, mainspring housing and mag catch are unique to the Bul.

Frame is unique except that Kimber used it for a while for their High cap guns and I think the Wilson High cap is similar if not identical.

Magazines are the same as Para Ordnance except that the mag catch notch is a little higher (Same height as STIs) Para mags can be used by opening up the window where the mag catch locks in.

Neat gun

Never underestimate the Israelis
In my experience with 45 comp guns you need to use the lightest bullets possible to get any real effect from the comp. I bought a Tangfolio gold team in 40 and even with all the ports and poppleholes it had no real effect with factory 180gr ammo. It did have some effect when loaded with 135 gr nosler jhps using 3n37.

Very cool gun though

I have one of the Charles Daly imported Bul M5 Commanders. After a short trip to David Sams to make it reliable (he found 5 areas that needed correcting, basically fixing angles). It is a great shooting gun.

The full-sized 1911 that is being imported from Israel now a days is one of the main reasons Charles Daly went out of business a few years ago…Bul was to produce them for Daly and IMI made them a better deal - so Bul yanked the carpet right out from under Daly...
