Broke Ejector

I have a problem getting the front leg of a broken ejector out of the frame and I am looking for suggestions.

The firearm is an AT model 1911 Military from SAM.

The owner did a poor job of initial cleaning, original springs are still installed, and tried to shoot some stout reloads that peened the end of the ejector and broke it off.

I have the retaining pin moved enough to clear the front leg. The rear leg popped out by tapping the frame on a 2" thick parts catalog.

Any suggestions?

Can you drill it out with a cobalt or carbide bit?

That is an option I'm looking at.
I have considered using a MIG and leave a strand long enough to grab onto (but that raises concerns about heat and warping.)

While I have the pistol apart, I'm also going to replace all springs (it can't hurt, it could help).

.
Turn the wire feed off. Inset the wire into the hole until it touches what is left of the leg, and touch the power button....you just want it to arc, then stop. The wire will weld itself to the broken piece...then pull it out.
