Did you run away from home or were you captured by pirates? Haven't heard a peep out of you in months.

Hope you're doing OK.

I'm good. Just steppin' and fetchin' with these dogs and various other Harry Homeowner projects. I need about a 30-hour day.

You are supposed to be retired. The best thing for you would be a good hammock to break in. Properly done, it takes a couple of months.

Retired. Yeah. When I retired, I found out that I didn't have time to work and just never knew it.

In addition to a young Siberian girl that came back in November within hours before she was to be surrendered to a high kill shelter in Randolph County...bringin' the total up to five Huskies...there's a litter of pups that was born back in early July after I trapped a skittish little starving stray so I could get the ticks off of her before they bled her to death.

And apparently, I set the trap about 2 weeks too late. She delivered 8 squirmin' babydogs...6 of which are still here. My one neighbor took two, and nobody stepped up for any of the others, in spite of the fact that they're beautiful, friendly, and wicked smart. Good pups, every one...and they're gonna be some nice little dogs.

That was the last thing I needed, but I couldn't turn my back on'em...so here they are, and now that they're all tangled up in our heartstrings...I guess they're here to stay.

That brought the total up to 25.

My life has literally gone to the dogs.
