| Shot my new Mak today for the first time
First I had to do a complete clean up on it as it was packed with grease or cosmoline. I ended up completely detail stripping it except for the extractor..(didnt want to lose the spring!) and soaking all the parts in Coleman fuel for 15 minutes. That did the trick and I was on my way to getting back together. after researching the derial number this gun was made in 1987 and was only test fired. Shot a small box of ammo and this thing is really a great shooter. Tight groups! Also when I picked up the gun at my FFL one of the salemen sold me a Russian Makarov Officers Holster and belt for 30 bucks. very cool. I will try to do some pics later. |

I bought a Bulgarian Mak last year and am very pleased with this little gun. I'm not a double-action auto fan, but I like the Mak. Congrats on the purchase. |

How exactly do you find the history of a Makarov, based on serial number? Where can I go to get this info? I've recently purchased a Bulgarian Mak, but don't know where to find out anything about this particular pistol, other that it was produced in 1981 (KT 21 XXX). Thanks for any info you can send my way!
