| Newbies - Greetings To All
Hi Folks, My wife and I (65/62) just added plinking with .22LRs to our retirement hobby activities. We just ordered two Ruger 22s, mine the 22/45 Lite & her's the SR22. I'm fond of Ruger rifles but don't have any pistol experience, hope they are good choices. We're planning on taking some firearms training and a few sessions with a shooting coach to get rolling. Its been a looong time since my weapons training with the Marines/Viet Nam so I thought it would be a good idea. We're really looking forward to it. |

Pilgrim, you could not have chosen better. Ruger's first product, the Standard Model, was the grandfather of your 22/45 Lite. My first .22 pistol was and is a Ruger Mark I (Target Model) purchased in 1964. It runs as well now as it did almost fifty years ago. Regards, Walt |

Welcome. I hope you enjoy 'em. Like wjkuleck, I have an older Ruger Standard(MIne ONLY 35yrs old) and it too runs like a top. Ruger always seems to build things bank vault solid. THeir 22s are the same and it being a light duty round, they hold up seemingly forever. I have no experience with the SR22, but if it's anything like their SR9,40, and other 22s, you all are in for some good times. And many of 'em.
