Removal of Kimber 1911 Saftey

I'm new to the forum and was needing help if anyone can guid me through removing the left side Thumb Safety on a Kimber Rapter II 1911 and then reassemble it. I'm not trying to disassemble the entire frame but just remove the left side safety to slightly hone the back corner. I currently have it field stripped with grips still attached. Thanks!

Hammer cocked...right thumb pressing on the end of the safety crosspin...move the safety toward the On Safe position. It should pop out when it's about halfway between positions.

Be careful not to lose the plunger assembly when the safety pops out. If the spring isn't correctly kinked, it'll shoot across the room.

What part of Kentucky? I was born in Harlan County.
