| CZ-75B-SA Pictures
Here are the results of my first attempt to take some halfway decent photographs of pistols. The subject is my CZ-75B-SA in 9x19. It has the following modifications:
(link to super-large version) (link to super-large version) (link to super-large version)There were a few more pictures in this series. Here's a link to the entire sequence. Pictures were taken with an Olympus Stylus Epic (no zoom), with the flash off, at about 10-16" distance from subject. The main light source was 4:30pm sunlight streaming into my office window, along with a halogen lamp. The results aren't too bad considering I'm using a $70 camera, and I've never "practiced" nor studied photography. I clearly need to work on lighting and composition, and get a camera which has an adjustable aperture, and a tripod, to fix the field-of-focus problems. Enjoy. Zak |

Hello, sir and thanks for the pictures. They are appreciated, especially on such a nice pistol. Best. |

Pics look good...like the top one especially. Kinda moody and artsy 8) If you've got a dark area like the backstrap in the top pic, where you want to see more detail, you can use a white card or aluminum foil to "bounce" light into that spot. Have yet to see a 75B SA in person - what's the SA trigger like compared to the standard 75B in cocked and locked? Excellent looking pistol and looking forward to more pics... |

From the factory, the triggers on all the SAs I've handled have been better than 90% of the other CZ's I've handled: much lighter and reduced creep. The only "stock" CZ triggers I've tried that were better than my SA were: a Champion (9mm), a "Standard IPSC" (.40), and one rare 97B that just happened to have a good trigger. It beats the rest no contest. It was about equal in quality to (but still lighter than) the pull on a well-broken in "85 Combat" a friend of mine owns. I sent it in to Mike at CZ for a trigger job, and it is now excellent. No creep whatsoever; no rearward hammer movement during the trigger pull. I'd say it's about as good as a "B" model CZ75/85 can get. Weight is set at around 4lbs. The take-up is not completely smooth, however, because the firing pin block does have to be disengaged. The trigger on these is configured so the reach is a little longer than the SA pull on a regular DA/SA CZ, though. It's about perfect for pressing with the pad of the finger, but might pose a problem for people with very small hands. -z |
