In almost every custom pistol review I read, the following line is standard. "The first thing I did was take off that plastic mainspring housing and replace it with a steel one." Well, I happen to like plastic MSHs. They are light and if you spend a lot of time with your hand resting on your pistol (in uniform), you know that after a while any MSH will tarnish or rust. So my question is, where are all the plastic MSHs? Someone out there should be willing to sell me some at a good price. I am looking for checkered, in black or silver. I do have some 1911 parts to trade such as a nice nickel MSH with a lanyard loop and a bunch of short triggers. ML |

I'd love to have an MS housing with a lanyard loop. How many plastic housing should I send you?

I took all my take-off plastic MSH's, melted them down, and made one great big one.

LOL! By the way, Chip McCormick sells a checkered plastic MSH for $9.25. Personally, I dislike them. http://www.shooterstore.com/acb/showpro ... oup_ID=130 |
