Greetings. I've got a pound of HERCO to burn up, and am thinking of using it to load some 45 Colt using 255gr. RNL. Anyone have any load info. using HERCO? What are your experiences here. Thanks in advance.

I have burned a lot of Herco in the .357 Magnum but not the 45 Colt. My 1967 Lyman reloading manual calls out a Maximum of 11.6gr of Herco behind a 158gr semi wadcutter. This load is substantially higher than anything listed in todays manuals however.

What type of shooting do you want to do, and which gun will the loads be fired in? Factory equivalent loads can be obtained directly from Alliant, or from any manual.
