Hi Standard Double 9
Similar to a previous post, I also have inherited a Hi Standard Double 9 .22 cal revolver. W-100 / 878958
Has black finish and ivory grip.
Anybody out there have any idea approximate year manufactured or any place I can get heritage and blue book on this gun?
Would be much appreciated.

I have collected a couple of them thru the years. I have a W-100 in nickel with the black grips. I also have a Longhorn Convertible and a couple Sentiennials. I have a High Standard revolver book that I purchase quite some time ago off of eBay. If I remember correctly, the W-100's were the very first ones and they started production in either 1955 or 1959. With the High Standard revolvers the lower the number like the W-100 versus the W-104 means they are the earlier models. I think my Longhorn is a W-104 and it was made in 1971 if I remember correctly. I have had nothing but good service with mine. They used to be inexpensive guns to purchase used for around $75 to $100. They have steadily gained collector interest driving the values up along with the number of them are rapidly depleting. The last one I picked up, I think I paid around $175 for it, and a decent one is going for more than that now. I have never worked on them, but I did have a guy tell me they are a bit of a pain in the tail to tear down and re-assemble.
