warranty/service

ruger offers no specific warranty, but if a gun ever needs service, how are they about handling these issues, should i go witha brand that offers a "lifetime warranty", this is in regards to a p series pistol in the event that makes a difference.
thanks

I had my P97DC sent back for a minor fix (bad hammer sear from the factory) and it took about 6 weeks round trip. Only charges were shipping on my end to them(about $13.00, no real sacrifice). I called and checked on the status on my pistol a few times and they were always kind, curtious and understanding. Thats my experience, your mileage may vary. Be Safe, Lazyace1975.
