| Standard Model (22 pistol) grips
New to the forum, Hi to all. Are all the grips the same for all models (Standard, I, II, III)? Looking at the parts list on "rugerparts" the grips are shown for model II & III and none that I could find for a Standard. Thanks |

Hi, No, grips are different between MkI,II,III. Standard(rst4&6) most of them take there own, the grip screw holes are different location and up to a certain year, not sure what year they changed. MKI & II, some grips will fit, some won't. MKIII, these grips will fitboth mk II & III. Now, main reason MKII's wont work on standard and MKI is they dont have a boltstop thumbpiece and the wider head hammer pivot pin. MKI's hammer pivot pin fits flush on each side and the grip panel holds the pin in place. Eventhough the MKII's fit some MKI's, she cut out for the hammer pivot pin does not cover the MKI pin. MKII's will fit a MKIII if you cut out the spot for the mag latch

This is good to know, but why post to an old thread especially when the OP is gone?

| retDAC, IMHO it's a frequent newbee behavior. There seems to be a time in the history of this forum of a lapse into minimal activity, and when I first joined, I found myself responding to ancient threads. (I remember marveling at the "presence" of Austin Behlert) Thankfully, activity has increased and most communication is current. The key is to look @ the posting date--a trick that took me a bit to figure out......

| My 2 cents: Posting to old threads can be very useful, especially in cases such as this one where the question was never answered. Now the answer is there for the OP if they check back and anybody else who happens along needing the same info. OTOH, an addition to any thread that just repeats what has already been said is just redundant and not really helpful as it doesn't add any information.

I like reading the "old post" issues, then the "newer" responses just to see the trends of how certain things hold up and the issues people have had with their specific firearm, it's educational. |
