Fabarm Classic Lion Grade I S/S
I am considering the purchase of a Fabarm Classic Lion Grade I S/S shotgun.
Does anyone here have any first hand knowledge of this gun? And if so, I would appreciate an honest evaluation of it.

I wasn't overly impressed with the balance. Seemed a little barrel-heavy, as most modern doubles do. Probably a smooth swinger, but that's only part of the equation. Stock dimensions were pretty good for a production gun. If you're new to double guns, welcome. Get ready to learn a lot, and go through a lot of guns - nobody ever gets it right the first time, unless he goes for the bespoke gun, and even then it can be a less than perfect experience. Most reputable dealers in doubles will allow a trial or inspection period. Take advantage of it whenever you can. Good luck!

Thanks for the info.
I'm not new to S/S shotguns but I have to say, I've never shot them well compared to an U/O, semi-auto or pump.
That's not to say that I can't hit what I aim at but there has been a lot of clay birds and game that has escaped when I have used a S/S.
Why then do I want one? Because I like the S/S. It was the first shotgun type that I hunted with 42 years ago and there's something about going afield with one.

There is something about a double... At one point I sold off all mu O/U's, so I could concentrate on my doubles. Even went to school so I could shoot them better. Not that easy. I was fortunate enough to buy back my Browning Pigeons for the same price I sold them at. I won't be fooled again 8) (I hope)
