I have one of these in 9mm and it is quite frankly the most reliable, accurate concealment weapon I've owned. Anybody else out there agree or disagree? |

Do I agree that it's the "most reliable, accurate concealment weapon [you've] owned?" Sure, if you say so, since I don't know what else you've owned. Sig 225s are nice but the one I had didn't fit my hands nearly as well as the Sig 220. I much prefer the Sig 220. |

Hello. My wife's personal defensive arm is a P225. It and the P220 remain my favorite SIG-Sauer firearms. Best. |

| Sig 225 Questions
I have posted this question on another forum and would like to know from the readers about the 225. There is an immaculate used 225 at my gun shop that I am thinking about buying. I do not own a 9mm now or never have and I think it would be a nice addition to add to my collection for economical shooting (9mm ammo is cheap on the web). I looked at the resources on the web for magazines for the 225 and they are hard to find. Also the current Sig catalog or their website does not list the 225. I called Sig last week and they say production is in limited quantities. Can someone give me some background on this pistol. My only other Sig now is a 220 in SS and it is one fine pistol, the functioning is outstanding. If the 225 is anything like this I will be happy. Thanks in advance, 77Bronc |

The 225 is a wonderful, slim and easy to shoot pistol. It's the only one that I own that I would compare in feel, pointability and function to a BHP. It's slim (just slightly thicker than a Browning BDM) with a shorter length frame and slightly shorter grip. It conceals easily and safely and, since there is no safety, can be deployed quickly. Here is the 225 next to a BDM. ![]() ![]() ![]() I usually carry mine in a Mr. Softy from High Noon Holsters ![]() The 225 is very popular in Europe as a law enforcement concealed weapon and SiG recently signed several contracts to supply them. For that reason, shipment here for the civilian market are spotty at best. But they are out there and available. I usually buy my 225 magazines from DaveNH who is a regular over on SiGForum. CDNN also has them in stock pretty regularly. In all, the 225 is one of my favorite pistols. Mine has the Ashley Outdoors Standard Bar-Dot night sights so that I get the same sight picture day or night. It's certainly a pistol that should be part of every collection. |

I have a 225 which I enjoy very much and I agree with almost all of the positive comments made here except that I disagree on its concealment qualities and with comments on how slender it is. No single stack 9mm needs to be that thick in the butt and the comparison with the P-35 is interesting because the Browning is a double stack. I am pleased with my 225 and will continue to carry it frequently but I am going to continue my pursuit of skinnier grips in an effort to tame that fat butt and make if more concealable. |

| P225 Question
You should be very happy with a SIG P225. I also have a P226, and I bought the P225 for better concealment in the summer months. While the point of aim is slightly different than the 226, it is as sweet and accurate as you would expect from SIG. Grab one while you can. They are very limited, and will be getting harder to find. If you don't like it for any reason, you'll have an excellent weapon to trade. |

| I just bought one!
I just bought a used P225 from AIM surplus. It is a German police pistol, with the European style magazine release. Overall, it was in very good shape, and looks as though it has seen little use overall. It does have the normal holster wear on the high point areas, but does have a tritium front sight. After a good thorough cleaning and oiling, I took it to the range for a workout. I proceeded to put 350 rounds of various makes and configurations (Ball, JHP, P, +P, +P+, etc...) of 9mm through it without any problems. Overall, I found the point of aim to be very good, and accuracy to be right on par with my G19. (Which is very good IMHO) I am going to send this pistol out to be refinished in Black-T by Walter Birdsong, and install a new set of night sites (don't know which brand yet...suggestions are welcome) Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase, and I look forward to many fun afternoons plinking with this fine firearm.

I like the standard sized bar-dots from Ashley Optical or whatever they are called today. They maintain the same sight picture night, dusk or full daylight.

| I'd say go for it...
My wife & I both use them for carry guns. Nice smooth action - I find it fits in everyday carry better than 226 or 220 - I'd say get the night sights & if you want pachmayers but factory work fine for us. (I'd also consider Nill customer wood grips if I didn't every day carry it... |

| Sig 225
I have a 225 and am very pleased with this pistol. I like the fit, feel, and function of a Sig and the slime/compactness of the 225. I have had a custom trigger installed in this pistol (TJ's) and it has made all the difference to me. I am going to have new sights installed to replace the Trijicons, just not sure what style to go with as I am not 100% sold on the factory Trijicons. I also have a Browning BDM, as shown above, and love this model as well. A great comparison. My only gripe about both of these is the price of magazines. I can understand the BDM Highcaps but not factory 8round Sig 225 mags, they are just way too expensive. BTW-Anyone know of a good aftermarket grip for the Sig 225, the factory one are just slippery and don't provide much of a platform. |

I agree its the most accurate, reliable, concealable firearm out there. it is heavier than other guns with similar size and purpose but I like it, it feels heavy duty and it is a gun you can depend on. :P [/quote]
