| Mod. 41 failures to extract.
   My mod. 41 don´t extract the fired cases. I make a longer expulsor, an extractor with less tolerances. I changed the magazines and nothing. The cases are not expulsed. The only way to make the pistol shoot like a semiauto is lubricating the cartridges with gunoil. What ca I do. Irod |

I had a High Standard with a similar problem. It had been dry fired and the firing pin had peened the edge of the chamber causing both feeding and extraction problems. You have probably checked for something like this already, but ...

| High Std chamber
Hi Ranger, The problem you had with the fireing pin peening the chamber is very common. It can only happen when the fireing pin is too long. To find out take the slide off and push the fireing pin all the way forward, if it protrudes beyond the headspace in the slide its too long. The cure is while holding it forward file the nose of the pin flush. Then remove the fireing pin and recrown it. Now to correct the chamber. Remove the barrel, placeit in a lathe chuck and and take a facecut to just remove the ding. This will not do any harm as the slide will travel the extra 010 thousands. You may have to run a chamber reamer in to be sure that the headspace isnt too short. Be sure to put a slight champher at the bottom of the chamber so as not to shave lead when feeding. Its always a good idea to put a dummy in the chamber when dry fireing, this will also keep the firewing pin from stretching.

Thank you Mr. Behlert. Nice to hear from you. I have three 1911s with your hammer & sear in them. Even I, a rank amateur, was able to get a great action using your parts.
