TRP First impression
Two of my friends decided to join me and purchased their own SA TRP. After ~1200 rounds between the three of us, I'm happy to report that only one of the TRP had a couple of FTF on the last round. Magazines used were Wilson 47D, CMC PowerMags, and SA magazines that came with the TRP. Accuracy is superb and the TRP is definitely one of the bargains in "factory" semi-custom 1911.
However, I have a couple of questions: Two of the TRPs are shooting exactly 1.5" low with 230gr. FMJ. A quick measurement of the front sight show they are about .180 tall. Is this common for the TRP? Will SA swap the front Novak for a shorter sight under warranty?
Second question: Anyone disabled their ILS by taking it out of the main spring housing? While the ILS may never malfuction at the worst possible time. But I would feel better knowing it will NEVER lock the grip safety up accidentally.
Thank you in advance for any advices or suggestions.

TRP front sight
My TRP shot about 3-4 inches low. I recall some people on another forum complaining about their SA Loadeds also low by the same amount. I called SA about it, they had me send it back. They put on a different height of front sight as warranty work, but I was out the cost of sending it to them. I'm not griping about it, they later fixed MY screw-up with the pistol and refinished it for free.

Thanks for the reply. I called Springfield and they agreed to change the front sight under warranty. They also agreed to refund the shipping cost if I include a copy of the receipt in the package.
