I have a V-10, pre-"loaded" gun. To be honest I don't know if I notice much of a differance between the "porting" and a non-ported gun. Personally, it is on my to do list to replace the barrel to a standard. Not trying to start a big debate, I just don't believe in having compensators or porting in what should be a close quarter defensive weapon. With that said, I do have a V-16 6" that I wouldn't change at all, but I also view the guns serving two different purposes. Have fun.

Have a V-10 ultra carry Lw with crimson sights. Have carried it for several years. great gun, added Colt officers mag that increases capacity to 7+1. Great shooting gun. Minimal barrel flip.

I bought a Heine match barrel and comp for one of my forty-fives some years ago. I expected much more than I got from the comp. I guess there was not enough gases to feed the comp and make it work properly. If you are interested in a compensated gun, you should find someone that has one and will let you shoot it before buying. I think it will change your mind. Also if used in USPSA it would put you in Open Division and it can't be used in IDPA. Buddy |
