| Accuracy saga
Well, those groups sound about right. I have a V16. I call it my one shot shotgun, meaning, that with a full choke, my shotgun patterns better than my Springfield Armory! Well, this was unacceptable. I sent it back. The warranty department said that it's within spec because it's better than a 3.5" group. Can you imagine? I just picture trying to use that for an advertising slogan on the gun "Our pistol's guaranteed at better than a 4" group!" Yeah, that'd sell some guns! They also say that the porting messes with the accuracy, funny, it didn't say anything about that on their website trying to get me to buy it. Anyway, the pistol's at Springfield right now at the custom shop getting worked over for accuracy with a fully supported match barrel, fitted slide, and new sights (the solid black sights really stink on, well, any dark target!) I'll post how it shoots when it gets back. The guys at the custom shop really sound like they know their stuff. None of this is gratis by the way, far from it. Nothing was covered under warranty, no offer was made. You want accuracy, you've gotta pay I guess. I just kinda thought a $900 gun should've done better. |
