That is a beautiful pistol. At 53 ozs. how does it draw and track?

I have a 6" 1911 Les Baer (I don't know what it weighs) and it seems too slow on the draw and does not transition from target to target as well as a 5"' does for me. I really do like the sight radius for the precision shots. I thought I wanted a SVI 6" gun before I bought this one. I see why some of the Grand Masters have their longslides lightened. I may invest in that someday.

It draws and tracks fine for me. I shoot a 5" SV for USPSA limited and I don't really notice much of a difference. It does cycle a bit slower, but that's because it is only fed foo-foo Bianchi ammo.

I've considered lightening the slide up a bit to sharpen it up a hair, but it shoots fine now so why mess with it.

Benny Hill at Triangle Shooting Sports does what he call's a Fat Free 6" where the slide is machined down to the weight of a 5" slide. Everyone I know who owns one swears by them and by Benny's work.

WOW! Eight minute response. I'll try to find his (Hill) site and see what he charges and the turn around time.

Thank you, Buddy

I have a 6" Sight Tracker in .40 as my Limited gun. I may ask Sandy about lightening the slide. Length without weight would be nice! 8)
