.22 Conversion kit for Compact CDP II

Postby Hightide on Sun Oct 11, 2009 12:16 pm

Does anyone have any experience with Kimbers (or any other MFG) .22 conversion kit? I just purchased a Compact CDP II and would like to get a conversion kit so I can burn up my many thousand rounds of .22 cartridges. I feel that even though the "kick" will differ substantially from the .45, feeding rounds through it can help my shooting skills with the frame (much like dry firing).

I've used and sold dozens of Kimbers and other manufactures 22 conversions. Not sure if Kimber offers a kit for the compact (sorry, can't look it up at the moment) but others do if not. Most shoot great. All it takes is really good ammo copper coated seemed to work better) and a cleaning brush to keep most of them running.

Not really pertinent to this question but I favor the Colt conversion with the floatin' chamber...I own one Marvel that works and is more accurate that the Colt, the weight is different. Had a Kimber 22 conversion in the shop not long ago...didn't work when it got here , wasn't workin' when it left, MY FEELIN'...."IT WASN'T WORTH WORKIN' ON
