H&R Woes

Postby stlswm on Tue Sep 29, 2009 8:57 pm

I bought two H&R Revolvers the first is a 1904 H&R DA. It has a pull pin cylinder release. The crane on this moves alot. The gap between the barrel is about .012 thousanths, the absolute max. Also the endshake on this revolver is about .006 thousanths, the absolute max. The mechanism or part that locks the crane is probably worn out or the spring is extremely weak. this is what I surmise. causing the the crane to move back and forth excessively. Anyway
to rectify this problem?

The other is H&R Top break, Hammerless, Large Frame it has very poor trigger return. I disassembled the revolver the trigger return spring was intact. There is part that goes fromthe trigger to the hammer, I speculate that this part may be worn out where it fits in the hammer. This part is P shaped at the top where it fits into the hammer. Anyway to rectify this
problem? This part on E Gun parts is called the lifter.
