| Help with My First Project CZ 52 & Mak Mod.
Hello! I am very excited about finding this site. I aspire to be a gunsmith and thought I would begin by taking military/police surplus pistols and making them as beautiful as they can possibly be. Because they are affordable I figure this would be a good way to learn how to apply different finishes and get into making custom wooden grips, and learning what operational improvements can be made to each. As my skills grow I hope to someday build custom handguns like some of the fantastic work in the picture section of this site.I have purchased a CZ 52, several Makerovs, a Polish P-64, a Hungarian PA-63, and a Norinco 213. All of these were selected because they were affordable and they appealed to me. While none of these are considered rare, I still struggle with changing a piece of history. But the desire to make a unique, one of a kind piece is winning out. I would like to begin with the CZ52 and one of the Maks. Obviously I dont even know what all of my questions are yet, but was wondering if anyone has any experience with the blue wonder gun blueing product? Here is a link to thier site were they have a video showing how to do it. http://www.bluewonder.us/BlueWonderGunBlue.html
I would appreciate any and all input, as I have never refinished a gun. Also ANY thoughts or oppinions are appreciated. Thank you all in advance for your input. I look forward to posting some before and after pics of my first frog to prince transformation.
